10 Habits of Chic Women Over 50 to Get the Day Off on the Right Foot

Hey, I know mornings can be tough when you're feeling sluggish. You might just want to roll over and sleep more, but then nothing gets done, right?

Try this: take a few minutes for yourself first thing. What do you love about yourself?

And if nothing comes to mind, no worries! I've got a list of 10 habits of chic women over 50 and how they get the day off on the right foot!

1) Fuel Your Day: The Breakfast Game-Changer

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you can't eat a healthy breakfast, then what are your chances for a healthy diet and lifestyle?

Instead of rushing through it in order to get on with other things, allow yourself time for something that will fuel your body first thing in the morning. And if you're really in a hurry, put some fruit in the microwave and take it with you.

When was the last time you sat down to eat breakfast? If it's been too long then here are some ideas for inspiring breakfasts that can easily be prepared or bought on the go:

- oatmeal topped with fresh strawberries (add sweetener like honey or maple syrup if you like)

- yogurt with granola and fresh fruit

- a veggie omelet or breakfast burrito

- whole grain toast with almond butter and banana slices

- smoothie made with spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, and chia seeds

We could go on all day! But we'll leave the rest for you to discover. Just make sure that breakfast is one of your top priorities in the morning.
