To become the best version of yourself that you can be?
In this blog post, we'll explore how giving yourself permission in menopause can lead to a more empowered, fulfilled, and joyful life. Join me on this journey of self-discovery!
Perimenopause and menopause can be not only disorienting and exhausting but also a little scary. Not knowing what to expect from your body can make you feel isolated from the rest of the world.
But what if that fear could be turned into an opportunity?
What if, instead of shying away from this transitional stage in life, you said: “I’m going to make it my own”?
It’s time to give yourself permission to reinvent yourself during menopause! From taking up a new hobby or starting an exciting career path at 50+, devoting attention to self-care practices, or trying something completely out of your comfort zone – giving yourself permission is crucial for creating change in any area of life.
Ultimately, allowing yourself this freedom will lead to a newfound sense of confidence and serenity. Allowing yourself this type of freedom isn’t always easy; however, when it comes to reinventing yourself during menopause, you say yes! Follow along as we take an empowering look at what self-care really means and how giving yourself permission (both internally and externally) can open up remarkable possibilities in your evolution.
In this blog post, I am here to help guide you through the process of how YOU can become empowered and transform your life by giving YOURSELF permission during menopause!
You are not your mother - it's time to break the cycle and create your path
It’s time to break the cycle and create your path. You are not your mother and it is not your responsibility to recreate her life or take on her values as your own. When it comes to creating a unique version of your life, you have an opportunity to do things differently than she did. You can choose different career paths, explore different hobbies, and engage with a variety of people that come from all walks of life. Life lessons don't have to be passed down in the same way; instead, you can foster creativity and independence by giving yourself permission to think outside the box.
Breaking the cycle of upbringing means being open-minded about unfamiliar ideas and being willing to learn more about yourself outside of what was passed down from generation to generation. It's important to remember that we are each individuals with our ideas, preferences, and goals. When navigating through difficult decisions or new experiences, consider how you want to approach them for yourself rather than following in someone else's footsteps. You should take advantage of this opportunity by engaging in activities that will help you discover who you truly are and make decisions that best reflect your personal values and beliefs.
Furthermore, breaking the cycle is also an opportunity for you to develop problem-solving skills as you traverse through unknown territories uncharted by those before you. You can find innovative ways around complex problems or circumstances and ultimately develop a greater understanding of how you react in certain situations – allowing you a chance at self-discovery along the way! While it may seem daunting at first, breaking the cycle presents an exciting journey full of possibilities waiting for you to chart your unique course in life.

Be kind to yourself - give yourself permission to make mistakes and learn from them
Being kind to yourself is essential to give yourself permission to make mistakes. It’s easy to get bogged down in self-criticism and negative thoughts, but it’s important to acknowledge that making mistakes is an important part of the learning process. By showing yourself kindness, you can learn from your mistakes and be able to grow as a person. Allowing yourself to make mistakes is the first step towards reclaiming your power and building resilience. When you are kind to yourself and approach your failures with curiosity instead of judgment, you create space for growth and self-development. It’s important to remember that failure isn't an indication of your worth; rather, it’s a chance for you to evolve into a better version of yourself.
Every mistake you make allows you to learn and grow as a person, helping you become better equipped for future situations. To be kind to yourself, it’s essential to recognize that nobody is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Knowing this will give you the space to accept your missteps without feeling ashamed or guilty. Instead, focus on what can be learned from the experience, take responsibility for your actions, and use it as a chance to develop.
Additionally, try not to dwell too much on past mistakes – use them as a stepping stone towards progress and improvement. Ultimately, by thinking positively about mistakes rather than negatively, you will be more likely to move forward with resilience and confidence. Making mistakes doesn't have to be something negative; instead, allow yourself the freedom of exploration by giving yourself permission to make them – just don’t forget to always be kind!
The strength of self-kindness will also help build relationships with those around you. Showing compassion towards yourself allows others around you to do so too – this not only strengthens existing relationships but can help foster new ones too!
Acknowledging your imperfections makes it easier for you to accept other people's shortcomings as well - creating an environment where everyone feels appreciated, understood, and supported no matter what happens.
Giving yourself permission to make mistakes can be liberating - once embraced as part of life's learning curve, it can serve as a powerful source of personal growth and development! The strength of self-kindness is paramount in allowing yourself the freedom to experience all that life has to offer without worrying about stumbling along the way. This strength of self-kindness can open so many doors!

My client Gina was feeling a bit down as she reflected on the changes in her life. She had just turned fifty and was entering into menopause. It felt like everything was changing, from her hot flashes to her emotional outlook on life. But then something inside of her shifted - she realized that this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing! This could be an opportunity for growth, exploration, and discovery if she allowed it to be.
So with newfound enthusiasm, Gina began to embrace all the changes that were coming into her life. She changed up her wardrobe, trying out different styles and colors that made her feel confident and powerful. She began taking yoga classes twice a week so she could focus on strengthening both body and mind during this transition period in her life. And perhaps most surprisingly of all - Gina took up painting! It started off as just doodles here or there but soon blossomed into full-fledged works of art that filled the walls of their home with color and vibrancy!
Gina embraced each change as it came until finally one day when everything seemed to click together perfectly – it felt like things had been rearranged exactly how they should have been all along! And although some days were still hard work, overall Gina found herself living a happier more fulfilling life than ever before; embracing change had truly transformed who she was at heart.
